AI TERMS OF USE

Introduction

Welcome to our ChatGPT API integration. By accessing and using our chatbot, you accept and agree to be bound by the terms and provision of this agreement. Please also refer to our general Terms of Use and Privacy Policy.

Purpose

This API integration is designed exclusively for learning purposes. Users are expected to engage with the chatbot to practice and enhance their language skills.

Model Information

Our platform utilizes the OpenAI ChatGPT-4 API to provide advanced conversational AI capabilities. This model leverages deep learning to understand and respond to a wide range of user inputs, enhancing your experience with accurate and contextually relevant assistance.

Lesson Information

All meta data used to create the context/prompt has come from the lesson script created by ImmerseMe.

User Eligibility

The chatbot is intended for students and teachers at educational organizations. Unauthorized access or use by individuals or entities outside this scope is strictly prohibited.

Data Collection and Usage

  1. User Data: We collect and store the responses and interactions you have with the ChatGPT chatbot. This data is used to improve the effectiveness of the chatbot for learning purposes and allow future development of task submission.

  2. Data Protection: We take the privacy and security of your data seriously. All user data is stored securely, and appropriate measures are in place to prevent unauthorized access or disclosure.

  3. Data Retention: User data is encrypted and retained anonymously in our system. We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties for marketing purposes.

  4. Content Safety and Moderation: All data is anonymously and securely passed through Google Cloud Moderate Text (https://cloud.google.com/natural-language/docs/moderating-text)  to help protect users against a list of safety attributes, which include "harmful categories" and topics that may be considered sensitive. Any content which exceeds our confidence threshold will be:

    1. Automatically blocked;

    2. Users shown this on-screen notification “This message has been flagged for content moderation and won’t be displayed.”;

    3. Lesson ended requiring the user to restart the lesson or return to the pre-lesson page.


Prohibited Use

Users agree not to use the chatbot for any purpose other than language learning. Misuse or malicious use, including but not limited to attempts to reverse-engineer, hack, or otherwise compromise the security and integrity of the chatbot or the underlying API, is strictly prohibited.


Personal Information

We strongly advise users to avoid sharing any personally identifiable information with ImmerseMe AI. While ImmerseMe AI may use your name in conversation, it does not actually know your name or have access to any personal information; any use of your name is added externally to enhance the interaction.

Limitations of AI

Users acknowledge that while ChatGPT is a sophisticated language model, it may not always provide accurate or contextually appropriate responses. Users should use their judgment and discretion and not solely rely on the AI's responses for critical learning decisions.


Disclaimer of Warranties

This API integration is provided "as is" without any guarantees or warranties of any kind, either expressed or implied. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service and may terminate, modify, or restrict the use of the service at any time without notice.

Limitation of Liability

In no event shall we be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising out of or related to your use of or inability to use the ChatGPT API integration, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

Modifications to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these terms and conditions at any time. In the event of any changes, we will notify you and request your acceptance of the updated terms before continuing to use this lesson type.
