WE ARE! š
Letās jump straight into our first Mini Competition #1 (during the ImmerseMe Games, weāll be offering $20 prize draws for random mini events that any student can enter). With all this talk of AI (artificial intelligence), we want to hear from you (in 2-3 sentences) whyā¦
āLearning a language is good for my human intelligence becauseā¦ā
Email your entry to hello@immerseme.co and weāll pick 5x winners for a $20 Amazon voucher!
And the winners are (weāll be sending out vouchers next week after the competition!)
Antara A, The Mac. Robertson Girlsā High School āLearning a language is good for my human intelligence because it broadens my knowledge and communication with the rest of the world. When I was younger I used to think that learning a new language was useless. I thought that knowing one language would never make me as good as those polyglots you see on tv. As I got older, I realised that learning one language in fact does a lot. For example, learning a language like French means that you can communicate with people in countries like Belgium, Mauritius, France, Madagascar and many more. Approximately 97.6 million people worldwide speak French. If you know the language, you can communicate with them, learn about their culture and develop new relationships.ā
Jahziel S, The Mac. Robertson Girlsā High School āLearning a language is good for my human intelligence because it helps me as a student and a person, in the present and future. Being multilinguistic opens many doors; I could be a successful overseas student, an effective communicator and problem solver, a quick learner or a person immersed into multiple cultures. I even be all these things at once!ā
Sky H, Kingās InterHigh āLearning a Language is beneficial for human intelligance because it enhances cognitive abilities such as memory, problem-solving, and creativity. It expands oneās cultural understanding, promotes empathy, and fosters effective communication, ultimately improving overall cognitive flexibility and mental agility.ā
Brandon B, Kingās InterHigh āLearning a language is good for my human intelligence because it allows me to expand my knowledge and vocabulary through others. In addition to this, it allows me to experience different cultures across the world and be able to communicate with a variety of interesting people.ā
Svanik B, Kingās InterHigh āLearning a language is good for my own human intelligence because I can understand what others say, as well as communicate in a new language with those to speak it.ā

What do students do?
Students have one week to earn points by successfully responding to native speakers within contextual virtual reality-based 360Ā° video recordings.
Examples include: ordering a baguette in Paris, buying a bento box in Tokyo or trying tapas at a Spanish restaurant.
ImmerseMeā¢ has been designed by a team of global language educators (see list) with the vision of creating āthe worldās best academic language toolā.
Content is differentiated into three levels: Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced.
Learners are progressed through 4 scaffolded learning modes: Pronunciation > Typing > Translation > Immersion.
Students are tested on their listening, speaking, reading and writing skills.
Choose from over 3,000 interactive scenarios across 9 languages: Mandarin Chinese, English, French, German, Greek, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese and Spanish.
ImmerseMeā¢ will prepare students with the practical language skills they need to thrive as a global citizen.
Teachers can follow student progress from a Teacher Dashboard and assign lessons as tasks.
Certificates and prizes (see below) are available to every student who earns more than 250 points.

TEACHER FEEDBACK
āThe ImmerseMe Games were a fantastic opportunity for my quieter students to shine in an environment where they didnāt have to worry about anyone else around them.
They were able to speak up in a comfortable environment, which enabled them to build confidence in expressing themselves in German.
A number of my sometimes less engaged students connected with the technology aspect of the ImmerseMe Games and practiced their German almost as a side-effect of being enthralled in the technology, which was really powerful.ā
- Heike Barker, German teacher, Cheltenham Primary School (VIC, Australia)
