Buongiorno!

Today, we’re excited to feature long-time friend and dedicated language professional Lina Kadziela, Italian teacher at Trinity Lutheran College (VIC) and President of the Dante Alighieri Society of Mildura.

  • How are you finding ImmerseMe so far?

I’ve been using ImmerseMe for the past 2 weeks and I have found the pronunciation tasks invaluable. It accurately assesses the student’s pronunciation. The student cannot move forward until the phrase is said accurately. The student is also able to hear a native speaker pronounce the words if they are having problems with it and they can do this in privacy and as many times as they need.

  • What are the key benefits to teachers?

This is a great time saving tool to help me assess the students’ oral tasks while reading their responses. Then in the translating task the students need to be able to regurgitate orally from memory full sentences that are appropriate. Another great help in assessing language use and accuracy.

  •  Are you using ImmerseMe alongside any other tools?

I find that ImmerseMe compliments my use of Education Perfect as this program assesses my student’s ability to listen and write accurately in the language as opposed to ImmerseMe which looks at the reading and speaking assessments.

  • Yay! Glad to hear about our friends at EP! Say hi to them for us! So I guess you’ll be doing both online competitions this month?

Yes! I will be looking forward to having my students participate in the Education Perfect Languages World Championships and then the ImmerseMe Games straight after. I will be marking the student’s results as a part of their assignments. One will be looking at the listening and writing components and the other reading and speaking parts of language.
